  • Dr. Karine Avedis

I graduated from the University of Montreal in 2006 and went on to complete a one year AEGD ( advanced education in general dentistry) program in Rochester New York. Following this post doctorate program, I travelled to Northern Canada, in the province of Nunavut, in order to provide much needed dental services to remote Inuit communities. On a personal note, I enjoy spending time with family and friends, as well as baking, exercising, traveling and learning new languages. I’m a very positive, happy and enthusiastic girl that loves to smile and make others around me smile as well.

  • Dr. Rachel Navaneelan

Dr. Rachel Navaneelan was born in Colombo, Sri Lanka, the second youngest of six children. Her father was a physician and her mother managed her husband’s medical practice. Dr. Navaneelan and her husband Dr. Christy Navaneelan, an Anesthesiologist, moved to Ireland where she practiced dentistry for eight years and started a family. They then moved to Newfoundland because they felt they could give their children a better life in Canada. In 1993 Cornwall became their home. Dr. Rachel Navaneelan and her husband had decided that they wanted to raise their children in a smaller Canadian city where she could also establish a practice that would give her an opportunity to develop a more personal relationship with her patients. Her husband, Dr. Christy Navaneelan practiced at the Cornwall Hotel Dieu Hospital and now works at the Queensway Hospital in Ottawa. Her daughter Tanya has completed her masters degree in epidemiology in Ottawa and is successfully working in Toronto. Her son Anthony is practicing law in Toronto.

  • Dr. Taylor McGuire

Dr. Taylor McGuire received his Bachelor of Science (Biochemistry) from the University of Ottawa and his Doctor of Dental Surgery, his OMFS/Anesthesia residency training and his Master of Science degree all from the University of Toronto. Following residency, Dr. McGuire was accepted into and completed a one year, fully accredited Fellowship in Facial Cosmetic & Reconstructive Surgery in the United States. Following this, he remained in the US for an additional two years as an Associate Professor at the University of Tennessee Health Science Centre, Memphis, where he was responsible for teaching facial cosmetic and trauma surgery.
